Newborn FAQ’S

Congratulations to your family on the arrival of your new addition! To ensure a stress-free newborn session, it's helpful to prepare beforehand. We've compiled a list of what to expect and how to prepare. While we typically review this information with our clients in advance, you can always refer to this guide if needed.

There are essentially two kinds of parents: those who plan ahead and book well in advance, and those who wait until the last minute – even until the baby is born, haha. As a parent myself, I can relate to both types of behavior and don't judge either one. Regardless of your approach, I'm here to offer my assistance to any parent in need.

When to Book?

As a helpful and reliable service, we offer clients the option to book a newborn session well in advance of their baby's arrival. By scheduling the session two months before the due date, we can ensure that we have reserved several dates for the baby in case the baby arrives before or after their expected due date. This guarantees that your appointment will be given priority and that we will be fully prepared to capture the special moments of your newborn's earliest days.

If you wait until the last minute, we may not be able to offer the most optimal day for the parent. This puts us under pressure to fit your session in between others.

What to Bring?

You don't have to bring anything for the baby unless there's a particular blanket or item that's special to them. We've got you covered in the studio with a selection of adorable and customized outfits and props for the little one. We have certain vendors who specialize in crafting photography props and have carefully chosen and handcrafted most of these items.

When parents and siblings join the session, it's best for everyone to wear matching colors. Solid colors without any designs work well to keep the focus on the baby. Parents are welcome to bring their own ironed clothes on hangers and change into them when it's their turn in the studio.

To ensure the best results, we kindly request that our clients come prepared with hair and makeup done before their appointment. In cases where there are younger siblings, we prioritize capturing family poses first. Our sessions for newborns may take up to two hours, and we suggest having siblings present for the initial portion before having a family member or dad take them home. The studio is kept warm to ensure a peaceful environment for the newborn, allowing them to sleep soundly and uninterrupted for an optimal session.

What setups do I choose?

We offer three different setups for our newborn sessions. To see the backdrops and setups we provide, please take a look at our newborn portfolio. Please note that we have a limited selection as we prefer to focus on specific styles for our clients. When working with newborns, we typically suggest choosing a neutral color such as white, cream, brown, or grey, and then adding a pop of color of their choice. During our phone consultation, we will go over colors and setups!

When do I receive my images?

We offer multiple packages, but our website only displays the basic one. Parents will receive a price sheet after a phone consultation, with the option to upgrade on the day of the session. After the newborn session, we will review all the unedited images with the clients, who will be able to choose their favorites. This process could take up to 60 minutes. The edited images or products will be delivered within 3-4 weeks from the date of the session.

What do we edit?

In our portfolio, you may have noticed that we prioritize true-to-life images. When editing photos of babies, we strive to achieve a natural, radiant glow in their skin. If a baby's skin happens to experience any breakout or peeling, we will do our utmost to ensure a flawless final result.

We understand that moms are often pressed for time when getting ready for a photo shoot, which can sometimes result in less-than-perfect hair and makeup. However, if moms can create a natural look to cover up any imperfections, we can take care of the rest. Our team will work to reduce the appearance of dark circles and any skin breakouts to help you look your best in your photos.

If you have any further inquiries regarding booking, please feel free to ask us without any hesitation.
